In this case, we have to know what is the functionof ethyl alcohol in that product first. Is is as a preservative (anti-bacterial), processing aid (solvent) or as part of the formulation? To my understanding ( I might be wrong) it is there both as preservative and processing aid (co-solvent) – therefore it is permissible. I have to stress here this is my personal opinion. Let the National “Fatwa” Council give the verdict!
ALCOHOL DENAT refers to ethyl alcohol that is denatured (rendered non-potable- to avoid abuse for drinking perposes). The denaturants used could be methyl alcohol (SDA 3-A), t-buthyl alcohol and sucrose octaacetate (SDA 40-A). Here the addition of alcohol denat is as preservative – therefore to me it is permissible.
