Comment on List of Non Halal by Nor

Salam, i have a doubt here.
All of us know alcohols (of any type) are not to be consumed in any kind of situations.
Then how do we explain the consumption of cough medicine?
All the medicine supplied by gov. hosp. contains a certain amount of alcohol.
Is there any fatwa regarding this?
